Pop Punk Shoot with @LaurenSawkinsPhotography !

Hey Guys!So the other day I did this awesome photo-shoot with a friend of mine, and her pictures are really great! You should totally look up some of her pictures on the net!
FEATURED in this blog post is the classic chic, pop punk, edgy look. It really is quite simple, and super fun! All you have to do is throw on some kick-ass shoes(preferably with studs), some ripped jeans, a black leather jacket, some layering and voila! You can also complete the outfit with certain accessories including a big chunky foreign necklace, a snap-back or beanie.
The thing I loved most about this shoot was the fact that I didn't feel like I had to be anyone other than me. I've always been such a tomboy and skater kid my whole life,so naturally this look was a lot easier for me to put together & wear.
Here are some photos from the shoot! Hope you like and enjoy them! If there is a certain style you'd like a blog done on, you can just shoot me an email me at ravinesmusic@gmail.com!
Til next time peeps!

This is a good look for both fall & winter. Too cold? Throw on your jacket and still look BA. Too hot? Keep the jacket off and work in some cool layering to punk-up your outfit even more!

Snapbacks,Long-boards,Layering,
Punk it up your way!

The makeup chosen for this shoot mostly consists of Covergirl Cosmetics, & drug pharmacy products. The easiest way to punk up an outfit? Dark eye-shadows & liner!  With this look, anything black is always acceptable! But be careful how far you go with the liner and/or lipstick as you risk crossing into goth style.

Need more inspiration? Add some favorite Band Tee's & work your own DIY magic! I personally ripped these black jeans with a knife and a cheese-grater! Mesh, rips, studs, it's all awesome!

Hope you enjoyed this blog! :) And remember to be your own super punky self!

Audition Day & Results!

Hey Lovely people!
So last month I signed up for a modeling & music audition in London, ON.  Pretty freaky right? Well I thought so. The audition finally took place almost a week ago. I remember all week I was freaking out inside while trying to seem cool and relaxed on the outside. Thoughts constantly running through my mind like, "What do I wear? What do I sing? What do I do about my tattoos? What if I'm not good enough?". The entire week was the most stressful week I have ever had in my entire life. I finally picked a song, and practiced it over and over again.
Even though it felt like it never would, the Audition day came! I left my job at a little shoe factory a couple hours early, went home and practiced, and when it was time to go I hopped on the train to London with my boyfriend and my guitar so excited about what was to come, and dreading it at the same time. When we got to London we hopped on the bus to the mall so I could find something nice to wear. I picked out a nice pale blue-striped top and a big chunky gold necklace to wear with my black leggings and knee-high boots.
On the way from the mall to the audition we took the wrong bus and I was freaking out like crazy! I felt so sick, and worried I was afraid I might throw up. Luckily, my sister had just gotten off work and came to our rescue.
When I got the the modeling agency where the auditions were being held, my heart kinda sank a little in my chest. What a line-up of so many beautiful girls all trying to audition for the same thing as me! I was a tad bit confused though because I had read on the website to wear very minimal makeup for the audition and some people were so decked out in it, that I felt like maybe I had missed the memo or something. I definitely felt a bit out of place as girls strutted by me and gossiped about paying $700 for their dresses.
I filled out my form, and waited in line with everyone else, guitar strapped to my back, waiting to have my picture taken and to be interviewed. My cute boyfriend and sister waited in the crowd making funny faces at me, making me giggle and helping reduce my nervousness. I finally got to the front of the line and just tried to be as myself as I could possibly be. I made the photographer laugh as I awkwardly tried to figure out whether I should be smiling or serious-faced and I think she got a picture that was in-between me smiling and laughing like an idiot. The lady who interviewed me was very sweet, and very attentive to everything I was saying. She told me that if I wanted to do a music audition that I would have to submit an online video. I was confused, I had read through the whole website and never read anything about submitting videos. And I was a bit upset since I had practiced so hard, and lugged my guitar everywhere all day, but oh well! She asked me a few brief questions about why I had chosen to come to the audition and why I wanted to be a model/musician. I told her about how much I loved to model and do photo-shoots and about how music was my passion, and she nodded with a pleasant smile. After a few brief minutes I took my seat with 90 other girls to sit and listen to a PowerPoint about the company hosting the audition and what they were all about. And they told us at the end of the night that in a few days we would get our audition results.
It was a really different kind of experience, one I'd never experienced before. But I was excited to see in a few days how I did and if I qualified to attend their modeling and talent convention where they teach you how to be a professional model & musician.

And a few days later, I heard back! I had qualified! Yay! I got the phone call 3 days later and listened in disbelief when the receptionist told me I had qualified to attend the convention. I was exploding with happiness! All those beautiful girls, all my worries, my awkwardness, my make-up-less face, and they picked me to go!  No way! Still having a hard time believing it 3 days later haha :)
Just thought I'd share this little tidbit of my life, as I am very excited to see what is going to happen this year! Wishing and hoping for good luck and the ability to pursue this future!

Beginning Blogging!

Hello Everyone!

This is my first blog, I have been wanting to write one for forever but never had the time to commit to it. Now I do!Yay!

Just a little information about me :

My name is Adelaide! My artist name on various sites is "Ravine". I am a 19yr musician and aspiring model from Canada, On.

I have two adorable little cats and enjoy spending my time reading, longboarding, modelling and of course writing and performing my own songs!

I have been performing for as long as I can remember. First in a band with my family called "Simplesong" and afterwards through school. I play guitar, piano, sing and make covers of various pop songs on Youtube.

Anyway, I am so excited to be starting this blog which will consist of many different things, mostly: music, beauty, modelling, and random thoughts :) Hope you enjoy!
